Adding Social Value in Public Procurement through Community Engagement
Mitie Painting & Fabric are committed to investing back into the communities in which we live and work. This is done through employment, training and community engagement.
Often referred to as the season of goodwill, Christmas 2017 saw Mitie team members of the Norwich branch, support EP Member Norwich City Council (NCC), at their annual Christmas Fun Day. Mitie Painting & Fabric have been a contract partner for NCC for over 10 years delivering their cyclical decorations contract.
NCC host an annual Christmas Fun day for it’s tenants and their families living in their neighbourhoods across the city, to get into the Christmas spirit. Every child receives a free gift from Santa’s Grotto and visitors can also enjoy face painting, Christmas decoration making workshops and a host of festive games.
Mitie team members hosted an engaging festive stall where children ages 1-11 were encouraged to take part in activities that included making their own Reindeer food and guessing the name of the teddy bear.
The free, family friendly event attracted hundreds of residents and was a great way to kick-off the Christmas festivities.
Organised for residents by NCC housing officers in partnership with council contractors Mitie, Gasway, SCCI Alphatrack, Norse and tenant and community groups.
