Bell Decorating Academies – Leaving A Legacy, Inspiring the Future

Our founder George Bell started his career as an apprentice decorator, as did 2 of our main board directors. As a result, we have always believed in developing our own tradespeople. We currently employ 167 apprentices which is over 20% of the decorating apprentices in the UK. To help improve the standard of candidates we have developed Bell Decorating Academies.

We have established 11 academies so far, by the end of 2019 we will have 18 academies nationally with over 400 students enrolled. We work with school leavers to bring them into the Painting and Decorating industry and guide them through a diploma course. Our involvement invigorates the students and engages them, gives them a purpose, and provides them with a platform to create a successful career in our industry. We work with them to get them ready for work and to truly understand our industry. We will be looking to engage with EP members to engage with their employment opportunities from their local community.
